Google puts up an interesting update on their Google Wallet website today; they are now advertising “the next version” of its mobile wallet app and providing a link a to request an invite. What’s surprising is that, there are 3 links that asks you what type of mobile device you are using. These are Android, iOS, and Other. This just means that they are expanding their device availability.
There are no details yet as to what new features and capabilities will be on the upgraded service. But what is highly possible is that Google might have plans to extend some portion of the Google Wallet app to iOS and possibly other devices. It is highly susceptible that the new Google Wallet will be used as some type of integration with Apple’s Passbook feature on iOS.
Also, Google announces today that Google Wallet is now available for Galaxy S III users on MetroPCS.
