Earlier this month, Facebook began testing a new feature for Canadian iPhone users. This test is mainly about its Messenger application to allow users to make free calls over a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection. This feature will certainly rival Google’s GOOG and Microsoft’s MSFT both of which are VoIP services. It was rumored that if the test went well, it will roll out in Europe and US soon. We’re not wrong. This Wednesday, The Verge confirms that Facebook’s new free voice calling is now rolling out to U.S. iPhone users. You can already call your friends in your Facebook Messenger app, by selecting the ‘i’ button beside your selected friend and choosing the “Make free call” option.
Will they make it globally soon?
